Oprah is known for her generosity and she is involved in many charities and organizations. In 1998, Oprah started her own charity called the Oprah’s Angel Network. What this organization does is it is geared toward people not only here in the U.S but all over the world that want to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged people. The Angel Network also provides support to other projects and is able to help non-profit organization around the world achieve their goals.
The Angel Network has raised over 51,000,000, one million of which was donated by musician Jon Bon Jovi. This allows the Network to be able to use the money that the Network has to concentrate on the less fortunate and the million dollars that was donated by Jon Bon Jovi can be used for other costs.
Oprah has set up funding for girls to get the best education they can in South Africa and she has donated about ten million to Hurricane Katrina relief funds. She is generous with those less fortunate and she has also surprised many of her audience members with cars and trips and money.
Oprah has also donated Christmas gifts and sports equipment to children who need them. She has visited Africa and visited children with Aids. She has asked her fans to help donate to the Angel Network to help the children affected with Aids.
